Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated: August 1, 2026
The short version: WeeklyDots Life has no user accounts, advertising, cross-app tracking, or analytics SDK. Your personal app content stays on your device. Limited network requests are made for feature configuration, Apple purchase services, and feedback you choose to submit.
This Privacy Policy explains how WeeklyDots ("WeeklyDots," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the WeeklyDots Life iOS app (the "App") or visit weeklydots.app (the "Website").
1. Information handled by the App
Information stored on your device
The App stores the information needed to provide its features locally on your device:
- your birth date;
- life events, including their titles, notes, dates, and colors;
- enabled preset event packs and a background image you explicitly select;
- app settings, customization choices, and wallpaper setup state; and
- onboarding, review-prompt, and purchase entitlement state.
This content is not sent to or stored on WeeklyDots servers. Depending on your device settings, Apple may include app data in an iCloud or device backup. Apple controls those backup services under its own privacy terms.
Photos
WeeklyDots Life uses Apple's system photo picker. The App receives only the image you choose and keeps an app-local copy for the background feature. You can remove a selected background from the App.
Purchases
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. WeeklyDots receives StoreKit transaction and entitlement information, such as the product purchased, transaction status, and access expiration, so the App can unlock Pro features and restore purchases. We do not receive your full payment-card details. Apple's handling of purchase information is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Feature configuration
The App uses ConfigCat to periodically download feature-flag configuration. The App does not send ConfigCat your app content or a WeeklyDots user profile. As with any internet request, ConfigCat and its delivery providers may process your IP address and limited request or device metadata needed to deliver and secure the configuration service. We use this service only to configure app features, not for advertising or cross-app tracking. See ConfigCat's policies for its data practices.
Messages you send us
If you use the feedback form in the App or on the Website, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, and message. App submissions also include the app version, build number, iOS version, and device model so we can diagnose problems. Formspree processes the submission on our behalf. We use it to respond, provide support, and protect our services. See Formspree's Privacy Policy for its data practices.
2. Website information
The Website does not use analytics, advertising pixels, or embedded third-party media. It is hosted by GitHub Pages. GitHub may process standard request data such as IP address, browser information, requested page, and time of access to operate, secure, and diagnose its hosting service. The feedback form sends the information you enter, along with standard request data needed to process and protect the submission, to Formspree. See the GitHub Privacy Statement and Formspree Privacy Policy.
3. How we use information
We use the limited information described above to:
- provide, personalize, and maintain the App's features on your device;
- validate purchases and restore Pro access;
- deliver feature configuration and maintain reliability and security;
- respond to support requests; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information for targeted advertising or track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
4. When information is shared
We disclose information only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers: Apple provides distribution, purchases, device permissions, and optional backups; ConfigCat provides feature configuration; GitHub hosts the Website; and Formspree processes App and Website feedback submissions. They process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
- Legal and safety reasons: we may disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful process, protect users or the public, investigate abuse, or protect our rights.
- Business transfer: if WeeklyDots is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, relevant information may transfer subject to this Policy and applicable law.
5. Retention and deletion
- App content: remains on your device until you delete it in the App, remove the selected background, erase the App's data, or uninstall the App.
- Support messages: are kept only as long as reasonably needed to answer your request, keep necessary support records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. You may ask us to delete them.
- Provider records: Apple, ConfigCat, GitHub, and Formspree determine retention for information they process in operating their services. Requests sent to ConfigCat may also pass through its content-delivery providers. Their policies describe their retention and deletion practices.
To request access, correction, or deletion of information held directly by WeeklyDots, use the feedback form. Because we have no accounts and do not upload your app content, we generally cannot identify or delete content stored only on your device. We may need to verify a request before acting on it.
6. Your choices and rights
You can:
- choose not to select a photo, or remove a selected photo in the App;
- manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple Account settings;
- delete local app content or uninstall the App; and
- contact us to exercise privacy rights available where you live, including rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of information we hold.
Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing already completed. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
7. Security and international processing
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the limited information we handle, but no storage or transmission method is completely secure. Apple, ConfigCat, GitHub, Formspree, and their infrastructure providers may process information in countries other than your own, subject to their policies and applicable transfer safeguards.
8. Children
WeeklyDots does not knowingly collect children's personal information on its servers. The App has no account system and personal app content stays on the device. If a child uses the App, a parent or guardian should supervise its use and any purchase. Contact us if you believe a child has sent personal information directly to us.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as our products or legal obligations change. We will post the revised version here and change the effective date. If a change materially affects how we handle information, we will provide additional notice where required.
10. Contact
For privacy questions or requests, use the Website feedback form.
